Quick summary

  • Who can do it? Administrators, Editors
  • How to reach it? Marketing > Settings > Login Wall

What, Why

Gate the content behind the login wall and give visitors opportunity to share their details. The login feature works with magic link.

What is a magic link and how does it work?

In today’s world we have to have millions of accounts to different services all using unique passwords. Most security breaches happen due to human error. It is really hard to remember millions of passwords in your head. Passwordless login makes your account much more secure. With passwordless authentication, you don’t have to trust websites with a password. When you attempt to login, you provide an email address. We then send a secure email to the address associated with your account, and the email contains a secure, single-use magic link to enter your account. The magic link includes a unique login token that we verify, swapping it for a long-time validation token.

How

  • Choose whether you want to switch on the login wall.
  • You can choose to restrict all posts and pages by default. Incase you do not want to put some of the post behind the login wall, then you can override it from the post/ page sidebar.
  • Add terms and conditions page: allow visitors to read and agree to terms and conditions before they sign up.

Once the user logs in, we can allow user to bookmark the content to read it for later. A tiny bookmark icon appears near each card. Once you bookmark it, it goes to your reading list.

You can click on double bookmark icon on the site header which takes you to the reading list. Once you finish reading, you can remove the bookmark.
